Metal Gear Solid And Zone Of The Enders HD Collections Announced

Metal Gear Solid And Zone Of The Enders HD Collections Announced
Posted 19 minutes ago - By Leah Jackson

Konami has announced Hideo Kojima's Metal Gear Solid HD Collection and Zone of the Enders HD Collection will be making their way to the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The Metal Gear Solid HD Collection will include Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker. The Zone of the Enders HD Collection will include Zone of the Enders and Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner.

The stealthy Metal Gear franchise is a classic, and cult fans of Zone of the Enders have been thirsting for more mech action for years, so the news doesn't come as much of a surprise. Plus, with the other HD collections coming out like the God of War Collection, Prince of Persia Classic Trilogy HD, The Sly Collection, and the Ico and Shadow of the Colossus Collection for the PlayStation 3, the two Hideo Kojima masterpieces seem like a natural fit. What's nice is that they're also coming to the Xbox 360 this time around.

The MGS HD Collection is slated for a November 2011 release and the ZOE HD Collection is set to come out in 2012. Both of the PlayStation 3 versions of the games will have Transfarring enabled. No price point is available yet for either collection, but when we know more about them we'll be sure to tell you.

All I can think, besides how awesome this is, is that HD remakes means trophies/achievements and that makes me very excited for the collections. What about you? Will you be picking up the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection or the Zone of the Enders HD Collection? If so, are you going to get them for the PlayStation 3 or the Xbox 360?

Metal Gear Solid, Zone of the Enders remasters to get digital releases

The HD collections for Metal Gear Solid and Zone of the Enders, both announced during Konami’s pre-E3 press conference, will also get digital releases, according to the English web portal of the Kojima Productions E3 website.

The contents of the collections – MGS2: Sons of Liberty, MGS3: Snake Eater and MGS: Peace Walker HD, as well as ZoE1 and ZoE: The Second Runner – will get PSN and Xbox Live Arcade releases, according to both listings for the collection on the site.

“Digital Download Versions are planned to be distributed via PlayStationStore, Xbox Live ARCADE,” it reads for both MGS and Zone of the Enders pages.

In addition, for the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection on PS3, a code for the PSP version of Peace Walker will be included.

Metal Gear Solid HD Collection launches this November on PS3 and 360. The Zone of the Enders HD Collection releases in 2012 for the same platforms.

Silent Hill HD Collection Is PS3 Exclusive
06/12/2011 Written by Josh Fernandes

HD “Collections” are the latest trend in gaming. It all started when Sony released the God of War: Collection featuring God of War I & II back in November of 2009. Since then, HD Collections have been released for the Prince of Persia Trilogy, the Sly Cooper Trilogy, and the Tomb Raider Trilogy. There are also plans for a Metal Gear Solid Collection, Splinter Cell Collection, Zone of the Enders Collection, Ico & Shadow of the Colossus Collection, and a collection for the PSP God of War titles. And as of recently, you could officially add Silent Hill to that long list of HD Collections.

When Konami announced the Silent Hill Collection during their pre-E3 conference, they did not mention for what platforms it would be released on. But during E3, they revealed that it will be PS3 exclusive.

Tom Hulett of Konami explained:

It’s always been a primarily Sony platform series, so right now we’re just aiming at a Sony exclusive, which isn’t to say in the future it won’t be available anywhere else, but right now it’s Sony exclusive.

Original voice-acting coming back to Silent Hill HD Collection

Update: A picture from NeoGAF shows Dave Schaufele (original voice actor of Eddie) and Guy Cihi both signing waivers so that their voices will be included in Silent Hill HD Collection. Monica Taylor Horgan (Mary/Maria) also revealed recently that she was going to sign off on it. Donna Burke (Angela) apparently did the same as well. So it appears to be official.

Original story: Guy Cihi, the original voice actor behind James Sunderland in Silent Hill 2, is optimistic that the original voice track will be returning in the upcoming release of Silent Hill HD Collection. He left a comment on Facebook mentioning that Tomm Hulett, producer of the upcoming Silent Hill: Downpour, recently called him and they “had a nice chat.” He stated that he is “95% sure we are going to get a Win-Win ending” out of the situation. You can check out the latest screens from Silent Hill HD Collection in the slideshow to the left of this article and Guy Cihi’s comments below:

I think we are close to a solution with Konami that will put the original voices back into the HD release. Tomm Hulett called me. We had a nice chat. I am 95% sure we are going to get a Win-Win ending. All I need to do is find the damn bowling alley and talk to that guy... What was his name again? =)

In addition to Silent Hill 2 (which will have the extra Restless Dreams content), the Silent Hill HD Collection will also include Silent Hill 3. The compilation will be released for the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 in early 2012.

no me habia fijado que la nota era de examiner... ahora no se si esto es verdad o un rumor de 2 pesos... esperemos que konami si haya decidido cambiar las voces de vuelta a las originales.
